Ōpāwa School Zone
Confirmed Amendment to the Te Kura o Ōpāwaho / Opawa School Enrolment Scheme Home Zone
The Te Kura o Ōpāwaho / Opawa School zone was drawn to road boundaries.
The new convention is to draw enrolment zones to identify the Land Parcels associated with addresses included in the enrolment zone. This allows more accurate identification of in-zone addresses.
This also results in the apparently rough edge to the zone.
The map of the enrolment zone is a visual depiction of the Written description, which is shown below.
Written Description for the amended Te Kura o Ōpāwaho / Opawa School Enrolment Scheme Home Zone:
Addresses on both sides of boundary roads are included unless otherwise stated.

All children who live within the home zone identified below have absolute entitlement to attend Te Kura o Ōpāwaho / Opawa School. PLEASE note all inzone addresses need to be verified. This can be done by producing a document such as a tenancy agreement or a phone/power bill with your name and address on it.
If you are living outside the school's zone, it is only possible to secure a place at the school if there is a vacancy via the Ministry of Education Out of Zone Enrolment/Ballot process. The reason for setting up the enrolment zone is to ensure that our class sizes do not become too large.
Please also note if you already have children at Te Kura o Ōpāwaho / Opawa School and are out of zone, you will still need to complete an Out of Zone enrolment form for any children yet to begin Te Kura o Ōpāwaho / Opawa School.
Out of Zone forms can be collected from the school office.
Once the process closes, you will receive a letter in the following 3-5 school days informing you of the outcome. Please see the ‘Enrolment Information’ tab for information if you are successful.
